Vintage 101

Mark Z Signs creates faux vintage signs using a combination of new pine wood and good salvaged or re-claimed wood . We try to buy our wood from local salvage sources or "green recyclers" as they like to be called, when possible along with vintage trim for our signs. Each sign is prepared and faux painted using faux techniques such as milk paints, hand distressing and or crackle techniques. All our signs are original in design and hand lettered using the best sign paints possible-all oil based. We then hand distress the lettering so as to appear "aged" before applying another in-house tinted top coat .The final step for most vintage signs are trim we rip down to size, and glued & finish nailed to the piece. All our sign have a heavy gauge sawtooth hangar firmly attached to a cleat for easy installation.
